Asphalt Sealcoating and Crackfilling

Sealcoating
Seal coat can either be brushed or rolled on. It acts as a protective barrier, preventing asphalt from drying out too much, receiving damage from oil spills and winter salt, and water infiltration. Seal coat restores a rich black look to asphalt pavement and is great for boosting curb appeal. High quality sealants are made of several different materials – coal tar, asphalt emulsions, and acrylic.

Crack Filling
Crack filling and crack sealing are often used interchangeably, but they actually mean different things. The main difference is the type of crack that is being worked on. If it is a static crack, then the crack is filled with a material that prevents water intrusion. If the crack is one that may continue to flex with the earth, a flexible crack sealer is used that prevents water and debris infiltration while also allowing for future movement.
